Ouin, la région c’est beau pour le monde qui n’y sont pas né.  J’ai eu du bon temps le 24 dans un bar disons, pittoresque, avec ma soeur, une amie et Mr.Tv, Baz de Base.  Mis à part cette soirée arrosée aux shooters portant des noms typiquement saguennéens tels que la grenouille paf, la cochonne ou windex, mes 4 ou 5 jours m’ont parus comme une éternité.  Au moins y’a un HMV et je m’y suis défoulée le jour du Boxing Day, fuck les permanentes cheap et les filles qui s’habillent chez Dynamite, j’ai décidé d’affronter la foule en manque de “spiciales” et j’ai demandé un lift à mon petit frère.  J’ai finalement acheté The Cool Kids (non, j’avoue je ne l’avait pas encore) 88-Keys et Kanye West, vous sentez le vibe?  J’ai même pogné Edward scissorhands à 6$.  OUI OUI, 6 PIASSES!  Je reviens demain, plutôt plus tard (drôle à dire) dans la journée.  Juste à temps pour frencher et danser à la Sala Rossa.  Qui seront les chanceu(ses)x à pouvoir me licher les amygdales?  Si je me retrouve dans le même état qu’au Bistro du Fjord, prenez un numéro!

What’s the story behind the Sourcedecalcium blog, how did it start?

Behind Source de Calcium, there’s a lot of dairy products, especially some Yop. It gave me stronger, denser bones early in life and it keeps me healthy.

I’ve been using this strength in my Livejournal for a long time. And in 2007, while working at the Montreux Jazz Festival, I started the MJF reviews on Blogger. It lead to the blog as it is today.

How do you pick things you post on your blog?

I spend most of my Internet time on blogs, websites like Fairtilizer that I use for my playlists, and labels and netlabels pages to see what’s out. I like to get my tracks on the very day they appear on the web. But that’s just one part of it. I also spend time talking with one of my best friends who’s a great crate digger. We are really into french psychedelic and sexual music from the late 60’s right now! And I work for TRAX Magazine which gives me access to a huge amount of new releases, EP’s and LP’s, from all around the world. Thanks to ”best friend forever” gille (which have his myspace updated), i love/will play/know Nadastrom now. They are Dave nada and matt nordstrom, a washington duo of producers/djs.  Working together as Nadastrom since only the beginning of 2008, they made themselves quite a good name in the blog game and in the music industry.  A while ago, when don rimini was in montreal for this nu ravers on the block/33mag event, Nrotb played their remix of a milli and i loved it.

I woke up a few hours ago, jillijill and i are ready to try out our new approach of the dj scene in montreal.  We will focus on the productions and on the gigs we are throwing.  Like those le mothership parties and some others things we have in mind.  Playing too much in this city make us looks like we’re the new hype and i feel like we are gonna die soon.  The only way to survive in montreal is to become resident dj somewhere, which sucks.  We are artist and we are really serious about it.  We’re now not taking booking in those clubs we’re not sure this is gonna be a event.  We will be in the studio more and in the streets making friends and contacts less, well, Lapalme is there for that, this guys will act more like he’s our manager or something, but remember we have no manager or no booking agency working for us, so, Lapalme will act like if he is.  Respect him, this guys is working a lot, he know what is up and he share the same ideas and concepts than us.  The main idea is still the same: producing a lot, playing a lot, but for now, start thinking about us as active producers, not active djs.  To make this djing part more interesting, we are buying some new material @ moog audio with the good advice of good friend max to make our dj sets more visual and live.

Coming soon is our lollypop remix and the remix for afgan raiders.  watch out for others blogs this week because i’m sending those avalon omega, 50 cent and lil wayne remix to bloggers all over the internets.  We also have this shu bawng song ready soon with the techjio remix.  We’ll send those as a demo to some label we’re kinda friend with the owner. You will probably have more news about it next week.  We are also filming the most epic videoclip for shu bawng.  Alexandre Lapalme is the producer of the clip, im the original idea guy.  We will only need some empty room with a leather couch, weed, shu bongs and girls.  The vertebrate video is still in our mind but we need to wait for some people to start the project, thats more serious and professional.

This week exclusive is the a milli remix we already played in club twice or more, we sampled the intro to make this ”kinda synth” sound. We also used those gunclaps, which is very important in a rap remix.  We tryed to make this one different.  Its only 3 minutes or something, like the candy shop remix, those we tryed to make em sounds like freestyles, you know what i mean?  They’re both very short and there is no repetitive part, its only like ”intro-part1-break-part2-break-outro” or something. The lollypop remix will almost the same.

We feel like misunderstood rappers.
